As a traveler from the United States, staying at Woodend Cottage was a delightful experience. the charming cottage, located just outside of town, offered a serene retreat that felt like a home away from home. the tasteful decor and fully-equipped kitchen made cooking a breeze, especially with the added company of Alexa. the working fireplace in the living room added a cozy touch, perfect for a winter Christmas break. The surrounding countryside views were breathtaking, with sheep grazing near the property boundary and stunning sunrises that made mornings refreshing. the complimentary WiFi and private parking onsite were convenient amenities, allowing us to stay connected and explore the nearby hiking trails and attractions like Drumlanrig Castle. the garden with a barbecue was a lovely spot to enjoy a meal outdoors, while the sun terrace provided a peaceful place to relax. Overall, Dawn was a fantastic host who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. It truly was a perfect retreat in the Scottish countryside.
